Over the past 70 years, Humane Fort Wayne has grown from a humble operation to be your trusted, comprehensive resource for animal welfare. While the region is waking up to our lifesaving and life-affirming obligation, we have outgrown our ability to contain the entire scope of our programs and services in our Hanna Street and Maycrest Drive locations.

The new facility, the Sharon Bodenhafer Critter Center will be a friendly space where people and animals can interact. With expanded opportunities for animal welfare and humane education, Humane Fort Wayne will be positioned as a leader in best practices for compassionate animal care.

It will be a safe and friendly space where people and animals can interact.
Donate toward the Capital Campaign and each gift will be honored with an engraved Pet ID Tag that will adorn an iconic statue at our new facility.
Humane Fort Wayne will be a place where pets and people can come together to help, heal, learn, and love.
Our goal is to educate fellow area animal welfare professionals on best practices and fear-free and compassionate animal care.

It takes a village to accomplish the work we face each day. Much of the project has been funded through a combination of Humane Fort Wayne reserves and gifts from families and foundations; we need your help to cross the finish line and raise the final $750,000.
Your gift of any amount will greatly impact our ability to complete building our new facility, the Sharon Bodenhafer Critter Center, by summer of 2024.
