When pets have safe, forever homes, they thrive. And with their loving companionship, so do we.
At Humane Fort Wayne, we work tirelessly for the benefit of pets and the people who love them. Everything we do—from adoption and retention programs to wellness services, community outreach and education—helps to promote their happiness and well-being.
From our staff to our members, to our volunteers—we are Humane Fort Wayne.
We’re for people. We’re for pets.
We’re for Love, Unleashed.
Founded in 1956, the Allen County SPCA served more than 60,000 animals and their owners as the community’s only no-kill shelter. Thousands of cats and dogs were given forever homes through the Allen County SPCA. Through effective and comprehensive adoption programs, they connected the people of our community with their pet friends, providing both the pets and owners a safe and loving place to call home.
Founded in 2008, H.O.P.E for Animals spayed or neutered more than 100,000 animals in northeastern Indiana, resulting in a reduction of cat and dog euthanasia by more than 70%. The organization served as the region’s only low-cost clinic to provide care for both pets and homeless animals through spay/neuter and wellness clinic services.
We take in animals from all kinds of circumstances. Once they enter our care, we provide medical services, rehabilitation services, behavioral assessments, and of course, lots of love and attention to prepare them for their adoption! Each pet available for adoption is spayed or neutered and current on all vaccines. Furry friends are the best friends; find yours here.
