What to Expect at Your Wellness Visit
We love our animals so much that we want to be sure every paw that enters our building is healthy and happy! That’s why we require a Wellness Exam for any service in the Humane Fort Wayne Clinic.
Because we are a walk-in facility, we often get very busy, very quickly. Walk-in services are on a first come, first served basis. We recommend that you come early to ensure that we have time to see you and your pet. Wait times vary – and on very busy days we may have to stop check-in earlier than expected.
- When you arrive, please leave pets in your car while you check in. You may be asked to wait in the lobby or in your car. We will call you when we are ready for you to enter the clinic.
- Please make sure cats are in a secure carrier and dogs on a secure leash before entering the building.
- All pets are required to be up to date on the Rabies vaccine. If your pet is current, bring proof of Rabies (paper certificate from your vet’s office, not the Rabies tag). If your pet is not current, we will administer the vaccine.
Please note: On days with long wait times, we may stop accepting additional walk-ins in order to accommodate those already in line. We recommend arriving early to ensure we can see your pet.

For pets under one year of age or any FIXED (spayed/neutered) pets, the Exam Fee is $20 per pet.

Need a Full-Service Vet?
Humane Fort Wayne is proud to help the animals and owners of our community! However, we are not a replacement for a full-service veterinarian and do not see sick, injured, or chronically ill animals.
For the long-term health and happiness of your pet pal, we recommend regular visits with a full-service veterinarian. You can find a list of full-service veterinarians in your area at the link below.
Clinic Plus Services
Need some care beyond the basics? Our NEW Clinic Plus offers a range of basic and supportive care services for pets including ear and skin services, mild sedated exams, and end of life services. Clinic Plus is now open at 901 Leesburg Road and is by appointment only.
