It can be a scary feeling, but the best thing you can do during this stressful time is to stay calm and follow our tips for locating your lost pet. Don’t wait!
File a Report
If you live in Allen County and lose your pet, contact Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, the entity responsible for picking up lost animals throughout our community.
Call 260-427-1244 or fill out a Lost Pet Report in person with FWACC. You can browse the lost pets in their care on their website below.
If you live outside of Allen County, contact your local municipal shelter.
Whether you’ve lost a pet or found a stray, we also HIGHLY recommend that you visit our partners at Petco Love Lost. This incredible new resource is a national, searchable database that utilizes facial recognition technology to help reunite lost pets with their owners.
You can also share the Lost Pet Profile to your local social media pages and make flyers to post!
Make Sure Your Information is Up to Date
If your pet is microchipped, be sure it is registered and your contact information is up to date! That way if someone finds your pet, they will be able to reach you.
Not sure if your pet’s chip is registered? Check here online to find the company that made the microchip. After looking up this info, you will need to contact the company that made the chip directly online or via phone to update your account information.
