What to Expect at Your Wellness Visit

We love our animals so much that we want to be sure every paw that enters our building is healthy and happy! That’s why we require a Wellness Exam for any service in the Humane Fort Wayne Clinic.

When you arrive, please check in. You may be asked to wait in the lobby or in your car.

Because we are a walk-in facility, we often get very busy, very quickly. We recommend that you come early to ensure that we have time to see you and your pet. Wait times vary – and on very busy days we may have to stop check-in earlier than expected.

  • Once you and your pet are checked in, if our lobby is full you may be asked to wait in your car. We will call you when we are ready for you to enter the clinic.
  • Please make sure cats are in a secure carrier and dogs on a secure leash before entering the building.
  • All pets are required to be up to date on the Rabies vaccine. If your pet is current, bring proof of Rabies (paper certificate from your vet’s office, not the rabies tag). If your pet is not current, we will administer the vaccine.

New Pet-Patient
Information

We would be ecs(cat)tatic to support you and your pets through ruff times! Here are a couple of guidelines to follow before scheduling an appointment or visiting our walk-in. We accept patients that are not spayed/neutered for wellness visits (some restrictions may apply).

Pets under one year may visit the clinic for their full rounds of vaccines while still being unaltered, patients that are over one year of age will only be permitted to visit the clinic one time unless the pet is then spayed/neutered.

For unaltered pets over one year of age, the office exam fee is $40, however, $20 of this exam fee can be applied as a discount towards spay/neuter surgery in our clinic if used within six months of your initial visit.

Need a Full-Service Vet?

Humane Fort Wayne is proud to help the animals and owners of our community! However, we are not a replacement for a full-service veterinarian and do not see sick, injured, or chronically ill animals.

For the long-term health and happiness of your pet pal, we recommend regular visits with a full-service veterinarian. You can find a list of full-service veterinarians in your area at the link below.
